Inflammatory name calling

#inflammatory name calling
Calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar “cowards” is hardly an example of responsible political leadership. Rahul Gandhi, as a senior opposition leader should show the  responsibility to uphold the dignity of public discourse.

Political disagreement is an essential feature of democracy, but personal insults and provocative language cannot substitute for reasoned arguments, evidence and constructive criticism. Rahul Gandhi's confrontational rhetoric risks reducing serious political debates to exchanges of insults and theatrical gestures.
An opposition leader earns public respect not merely by attacking those in power but by presenting credible alternatives, questioning government policies with evidence and demonstrating consistency between words and actions.

Personal attacks may generate headlines and energise misinformed political supporters, but they can also alienate undecided voters and weaken the substance of legitimate criticism. If Rahul Gandhi wishes to establish himself as a credible national leader, restraint, clarity of argument and respect for constitutional institutions would serve him better than inflammatory name-calling.

The strength of a leader lies not in the harshness of his insults, but in the quality of his arguments, the dignity of his conduct and the credibility of his alternative vision.

#Should Vigilance be closed?

#Should Vigilance be closed or should the High Court also be investigated!

Whether an FIR should be registered in a case is not a matter of political convenience; it is a matter that should be examined according to legal standards. There is strong criticism that the state government went ahead with its own vigilance investigation without registering an FIR despite the ED's findings and demands for further action in the allegations against Pinarayi Vijayan and his son-in-law Mohammed Riyaz.

Now that the High Court has intervened, the vigilance investigation announced by the government cannot be carried out without closing it. The government should clarify on what basis the FIR was not filed despite the ED's request. Since the High Court's new directive is against the government's political calculations, will a vigilance investigation be announced against the court as well?

The rule of law is not something that should be remembered only when the government is convenient. It is the constitutional responsibility of the government to follow the court's directives; it cannot turn its back on them in the name of political friendship.  Just as no one can be declared guilty before the charges are proven, no one can be kept under suspicion indefinitely in the name of investigation.

In a democracy, the government can disagree with the court; but the due process of law should not be ignored in the name of political favoritism.

Political Farces

#Political #Farces
The current developments in Kerala politics are more than just political farces, they expose the double standards of the ruling class. Just as all rivers flow into the sea, we can see a strange way in which all the crises and controversies in the state are finally tied to one person.

While the cockroaches and the indis are declaring a strike against Gyanesh Kumar in Delhi as if to oust Modi, the ruling party in Kerala is also raising its sword against him. It is because it is reluctant to go to Delhi and roll out the Luttappi.model with the police that an artificial strike atmosphere is being created in the political arena of Kerala.

There are clear political objectives behind the moves by the ruling party to implicate the then Public Works Secretary Gyanesh Kumar in a suicide incident that took place twenty years ago.  The UDF may have felt it was politically necessary to resort to such tactics to counter the allegations raised by the Marxist party that 'Satheesan is a Modi supporter'. It is also clear that this entry into the scene is outside the 'legal advice' received as part of it.

But the problem is with the advisors who give such legal advice. Kerala witnessed similar scenes during the previous LDF regime. Pinarayi and his group's method was to blame all the misdeeds committed by the government and the cases that were lost in the courts on the heads of the legal advisors.

Many serious corruption cases that have emerged in Kerala in the last two decades, including gold smuggling, sprinkler, black sand monthly payment, and PPE kits, are still not being investigated.  When so many cases with real evidence are lying before the investigative agencies working with the tax money of the common people, what else is the current government doing but ignoring all that and diverting the vigilance investigation into such unnecessary controversies?

The Kerala society needs to recognize such dramas that are being carried out with the benefit of legal advice to divert attention from the real problems of the people and to hide their mutual political collusion. The damage done to the democratic system of Kerala by this political deception, where the ruling party and the opposition become birds of the same feather and deceive the people, is not insignificant..

Street vandalism and court order

#Street vandalism and court order
The blatant disregard for judicial mandates, as witnessed during the recent protests by political youth wings where massive quantities of illegal flex boards and banners were erected and subsequently vandalized, represents an unacceptable challenge to the rule of law.

The Kerala High Court’s strict directives were implemented precisely to eradicate the visual clutter, environmental hazards, and public nuisance caused by unauthorized hoardings on public roads and government land. For political entities and rival groups to flood the streets with illegal displays shows a profound contempt for judicial authority and public order.

Responsibility for this brazen violation lies squarely on multiple shoulders, starting with the political organizations and activists who willfully defy court orders for mobilization and showmanship.

Again, Local Self-Government Institution (LSGI) secretaries and municipal authorities bear administrative accountability, as the court explicitly holds local bodies liable for permitting or failing to clear such unauthorized material.

To restore public trust and uphold judicial integrity, authorities must enforce heavy financial penalties on the sponsoring entities, recover costs from negligent officials, and take strict legal action against those who treat public spaces as lawless zones for political confrontation.

Disgrace to políticas culture

#Disgrace to political culture
The incident of black flagging against Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Minister O.J. Janeesh's public justification that it was an organizational decision, is highly condemnable and a violation of political etiquette.

It is completely undemocratic and unheard of for a person who has taken oath as per the Constitution and is serving in the state cabinet to depute people under the protection of his official position to protest against the Union Minister. Such trends that blur the boundaries between constitutional positions and political interests pose a great threat to the federal system and constitutional etiquette of the country.

Official support for violent politics and protest movements by those in responsible positions will only lead to breakdown of law and order and political conflicts in the state. Instead of democratic debates and policy discussions, black flagging and protests are being organized with the connivance of the rulers themselves is a disgrace to the general political culture of Kerala.

Banner linguistics

#Banner #Linguistics
Even the English professors were shocked to see the linguistics in that special poster held up by the children of Chavara Guhanandapuram School. The discovery of Marxist theorist Jaromi from Kollam, who shocked both Shakespeare and Vailopp(Pi)illi that the word Pookie seen on the banner does mean cute, is immense. Mulakuvellam (MV) Jayarajan, who said that Shumban means one who spreads light, is an erudition that surpasses even the scholars.

If "Poda Poomone" had been written on the banner, the former Higher Education Minister, who carries a house on her head, would have come to justify it by saying that it was out of love for nature and that "poo" means "flower" in English. In any case, the incident rose to international level as the linguistic prowess of those with doctorates in English literature was revealed.  To figure out the grammar and meaning of words, you need a PhD; otherwise, ordinary people will misunderstand this as some kind of vulgarity!

In fact, the teacher who painted such letters on the hands of these children should be honored with a good prayer. Instead of giving children time to play and learn, the political scum who make them hold up such placards and entertain them should be tracked down and punished.

If you look at this style of justification by Chinta Jerome, it is certain that in the future a special academic panel will have to be formed to measure politeness and grammar in schools!

Ridiculous Stand

#Ridiculous #Stand
It is ridiculous that former Finance Minister Dr. Thomas Isaac has come out in support of Reporter Channel and Anto Augustine. The people will not accept the move to politicize the natural legal proceedings of the government and the GST department.

When an investigation is underway against an institution facing serious allegations including financial fraud worth crores and money laundering abroad, it is highly condemnable to label it as illegal.

Thomas Isaac is looking for a way out of the party due to recent political interference. In such a situation, channel coverage and media attention have become essential. Isaac knows that if he supports Reporter Channel now, his head and full figure will appear on their TV screens. That is the reason for taking such wrong stands.

It is the primary duty of the government to bring those who are involved in major financial irregularities and liquor trade to justice under the guise of journalism. The state government and the investigative agencies are commendable for their decision to bring financial crimes to light through honest and transparent investigations.

The government is sending a strong message that the law is the same for everyone and that even big media houses or individuals cannot escape punishment for financial irregularities.

Channel Raid welcome

ChannelRaid Welcome
.The media heroes who sit in the channel room in the evening and judge everyone in the world and pass judgment, only realized that 'the law is the same for all' when the police arrived at their doorstep with a court order.

It is interesting to see that those who openly bid on anyone's life and dignity for prime time ratings and to fill the pockets of the capitalists in the evening discussions, suddenly turned into guardians of freedom of expression when the law came their way in their own case. This small blow received by such seventh-rate media personalities who are taking classes on the sanctity of journalism after evading taxes and fraud worth crores, is actually what the common people of Kerala wanted.

This is a warning to the low-level journalism that is creating chaos in the country by misleading the people and fabricating fake news.  It is commendable that the insolence of these media tycoons has been put to an end, at least temporarily, through the proper intervention of the court and the firm action of the police.

It is clear that the idea that any channel can show any injustice to fill the pockets of the boss is no longer valid. This stand taken by the government against those who justify their own frauds in the name of media ethics is a clear warning to other news channels that are also going astray.

Unfair media actions

#Unfair #MediaActions
Reporter TV owner Anto Augustine's untrue and highly condemnable revelations against Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan are tarnishing the political and media culture of Kerala.

A clear picture needs to be brought out about the secret groups that approached the media with fake documents and allegations against the Chief Minister of a state, and the political agendas behind it. Anto Augustine, who forgot the role of the media, prepared a platform for such fake propaganda and raised allegations against the responsible state head without investigating the facts, should be subjected to strong police interrogation.

Making the media a victim of unfair political rivalry that goes to any extreme to destroy the democratically elected government is a huge threat to constitutional institutions and democracy itself.

The activities of such channel owners who misuse channels for personal or political narrow interests instead of bringing honest news to the people are extremely dangerous.  It is imperative to legally stop such heinous moves that are trying to create a smokescreen in the society and mislead the people by making false allegations.

If the real forces behind the conspiracy behind the fabrication of fake documents are not identified and brought to justice, it will send a very wrong message to the general public of Kerala. Strong legal action and public protests must be raised against such unscrupulous tendencies in the media.

ED's nose

#ED_'s_nose
The nose-smashing of central agencies and the political battles over it have become a new entertainment in Kerala politics. If you listen to M. Swaraj's statement that "ED does not have a nose that is only for pulling Pinarayi", we will feel that the investigation agencies are not coming to pull the accused by the neck, but by the nose!

One would doubt whether these theoretical scholars are trying to somehow provoke the ED and suddenly bring the former chief minister into the fold. Such provocative statements can actually be seen as a wasteful tactic to excite their own followers, rather than the seriousness of the case.

In the meantime, some leaders have come forward with a mass dialogue that they will face it legally, politically and through channels. In a system where agencies continue to investigate and courts consider the case, the truths in the case are not going to disappear due to this channel fight and verbal battles. Let the investigation take its course peacefully.  The legal system will decide whether the allegations are true or not.

Leaders should put aside political dramas and rhetoric and face matters only through the law.

#Deadly #Exclusive

#Deadly_Exclusive
We cannot help but applaud the extraordinary media prowess of Channel Twenty-Four, which was finally able to locate Sukumara Kurup, who has been desperately searching for years by the Crime Branch and Interpol, at a construction site in Bruno. Even the Home Department must have been shocked for a moment to hear the news that Kurup is working there happily. However, that deadly exclusive, which claimed to be a picture of Kurup and showed a photo of poor Damodara Menon, is a major milestone in the history of fake news.

The arrogance of anyone to fabricate anything and present it as a person, and the irresponsibility of committing personal murder without any basic information, are clearly evident here. Strong legal action must be taken against such media conspiracies that set out to catch Kurup and make ordinary passers-by criminals.

The situation where anything can be fabricated for the sake of ratings and to push breaking news is in any case reprehensible. It would not be surprising if tomorrow, in order to increase ratings, news was broadcast saying that Alexander Chakravarthy is running a plywood company in Perumbavoor or that Napoleon has taken a rice mill on lease in Kuttanad. Channels that broadcast such fabrications that throw dust in the eyes of the people without even investigating the facts and basic information are showing deception to the public.

Exemplary punitive measures must be taken by the authorities immediately to stop such trends that turn journalism into a comedy show.

No vehicle modification

#No_vehicle_modification
The Kerala High Court's stand that illegal modifications to vehicles manufactured by companies adhering to the correct safety standards and engineering norms pose a threat to the lives of the public is quite welcome. It is vanity and financial arrogance to put vehicles on the road by unnecessarily fitting or changing their structure as they see fit.

Such trends that create chaos on the road by installing extremely loud horns and large lights are causing considerable difficulties to other vehicle users and pedestrians. The fact that society and the government are involved in such anti-social activities in the name of 'new generation' or in the name of low-level enthusiasm can only serve to turn public roads into a danger trap.

It is absolutely unacceptable for the government and people's representatives to take a soft approach to lawbreakers. It is completely irresponsible to justify and encourage such unnecessary trends of the youth with the aim of vote bank or temporary applause.  Giving unlimited concessions to law violations in the name of new reforms will invite major disasters in the coming days.

The Chief Minister should not get excited about the "Pookie CM" calls of those who are going to modify vehicles. The safety of the public should be given first priority; therefore, the government should immediately prepare to implement the High Court verdict to the letter and take uncompromising and strict action against those who modify vehicles and those who are in cahoots with them.

Anarchy must be prevented

#Anarchy #MustBePrevented
The ongoing disputes between the constitutional head of Kerala and the elected people's government are more than just a political battle, they raise serious concerns about our democratic values.

While the technical argument that the Governor does not have the constitutional right to directly summon the Director General of Police (DGP) to the Lok Bhavan is being raised, the reality cannot be forgotten that it is his duty to intervene to protect the Constitution when there is a breakdown in law and order in the state.

The recent incidents of violence by SFI activists at Kannur University and Kerala University are not mere breaches of discipline. It is a disgrace to enlightened Kerala that the police system, which is supposed to maintain law and order, has been standing idly by while violent anarchy is unleashed even against those holding constitutional positions. The state Home Minister and the Chief Minister should answer for this callous attitude of the police.

The Governor has to intervene when the government fails to discharge its constitutional responsibilities.Even if the Governor has constitutional limitations to directly summon officials, it would be good for the rulers to remember that he has the power to recommend the dissolution of the cabinet through constitutional provisions including Article 356 in the event of a breakdown in the constitutional machinery of the state.

The government and those holding constitutional positions should be prepared to act responsibly by recognizing their jurisdictions, without making universities a platform for political struggles, and to maintain the standard of higher education and to advance governance by respecting the dignity of constitutional institutions. Otherwise, what will be destroyed is the law and order in our country and the people's faith in democratic institutions.

Political opportunism

#Chandy Oommen's political opportunism.
Chandy Oommen’s decision to jump into the dispute between K. B. Ganesh Kumar and G. Sukumaran Nair looks more like political opportunism than genuine concern. By strongly supporting Sukumaran Nair and calling him a national asset, Chandy appears to be ignoring the serious allegations raised by Ganesh Kumar about nepotism, autocratic functioning and questionable dealings within the NSS.

Whatever Ganesh Kumar’s personal shortcomings may be, his long association with the NSS gives him considerable knowledge of how the organisation functions. Chandy Oommen, on the other hand, has suddenly taken up the role of Nair’s strong supporter. This raises questions about whether his support is really based on admiration or on political calculations and an attempt to win community support.

The biggest irony is that Chandy has chosen not to address the serious issues raised against the NSS leadership. Ganesh Kumar has questioned the concentration of power and the way the organisation is being run, while Chandy appears to be defending the existing system without addressing those concerns.

His intervention therefore looks less like an act of principle and more like political calculation. It is an attempt to gain community support by standing firmly behind a powerful community leader at a time of internal controversy.

Rare Event

#Rare #Event
Kerala should tremble when a film actor is said to be leaving the BJP, but that did not happen in Devan's case. Because the fact that Devan was in the BJP is 'breaking news' for many.

When his party KPP merged with the BJP, the question of whether there was anyone to merge is still relevant. Perhaps if Devan did the merger alone, then it is just a rare political event that one person joins and a party merges at the same time.

All he had to do to announce his resignation was stand from his balcony at home, but Devan traveled all the way to Kanichukulangara and announced it in the presence of Padma Bhushan Vellappally Natesan. It would take a political strategist to understand the logic behind announcing his departure from the BJP in front of someone who has no connection with the BJP.

It is said that the decision taken five months ago has now been announced and that the letter will be handed over soon. In other words, the distance between the resignation and its official document is as far as Devan's actual influence in the BJP.

Devan is now in the condition of a donkey whose health has deteriorated, his bones have been broken and his teeth have fallen out. Actor Bheeman Raghu can also be included in that category. -

Disgracefull act

#Disgraceful #Act
The mock funeral agitation conducted by the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) against the Vice-Chancellor of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit is deeply deplorable and unacceptable. Resorting to such extreme measures under the guise of student protest is a blatant attack on academic dignity, amounting to severe mental harassment and character assassination of respected educators.

Such acts completely derail democratic/ principles, setting a harmful precedent that disrespects the sacred environment of higher education institutions. The police should never stand as mute spectator to such heinous incidence. The state government and law enforcement must take immediate, stringent action to book the culprits responsible for this incident.

The authorities must implement strict regulatory measures and institutional guidelines across all universities to ensure that such disgraceful acts are never repeated, restoring safety, mutual respect, and academic decorum on college campuses.

Disservice by the Opposition

#Disservice by the Opposition
The deliberate and uncooperative attitude of the opposition parties throughout this parliamentary session is a serious disservice to democracy and the national interest. By choosing political obstruction over constructive discussion, they have repeatedly disrupted parliamentary proceedings and prevented meaningful legislative work.

Valuable parliamentary time, funded by taxpayers, has been lost because of this persistent obstruction. Instead of focusing on substantive public issues and presenting constructive policy alternatives, the opposition has often resorted to confrontation and disruption. As a result, important legislative business has been delayed and several matters of national importance have suffered. Such continued obstruction weakens public confidence in Parliament and its democratic functioning.

It also reflects a regrettable disregard for the expectations of citizens who look to Parliament to debate issues and find solutions to the country's most pressing challenges.

Goon Hunting and channel celebration

#Goon Hunting and Channel Celebration.
Congratulations to the Home Minister and the police for the action taken to take into custody the notorious criminal Arjun Ayanki, who has continuously defied the police and the Home Department. However, the fact that a person accused in 23 criminal cases has been able to roam the society without any hindrance for so long exposes the serious loopholes and breakdown in our law and order system.

Such dramatic incidents could have been avoided if proper punishment had been ensured in one or two cases earlier. Only through strict implementation of the rule of law can criminals be stopped. Therefore, the decision of the Home Department to equally crack down on all types of criminals who spread violence and fear in the society, regardless of gender, is welcome and should be implemented without compromise.

Also, the stance of Malayalam news channels, which portray even the arrest of a criminal as a big news story like the dropping of an atomic bomb and turn it into an hour-long celebration, is extremely deplorable. Such excessive importance and celebrations only serve to give unnecessary media attention and fame to criminals.

There is no basis in the argument that the police are stopping the drug hunt to catch goons; because the presence of such people in gold smuggling and drug trade is clear. By arresting goons, the roots of drug and gold smuggling networks can also be uprooted at the same time. Therefore, beyond mere channel dramas, the country needs strong ongoing investigations aimed at this double goal

DBT is better

#DBT is better
The decision to transition social security pension payments to Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) through Aadhaar-linked commercial bank accounts is a necessary step toward transparency, efficiency, and modern governance.

By ensuring that payments flow directly into verified bank accounts, this policy eliminates intermediary friction, guarantees timely disbursements, and prevents financial leakages such as duplicate payments or unverified records Retaining doorstep delivery specifically for bedridden beneficiaries strikes the right balance between fiscal efficiency and compassionate social welfare.

The previous administration's practice of sending physical messengers from local cooperative banks to hand-deliver cash was financially wasteful and prone to administrative misuse. The cooperative bank payment system suffered from severe demerits, including delayed remittances of undistributed funds, poor record-keeping, lack of proper account reconciliation, and systemic risks of paying duplicate pensions due to incomplete Aadhaar integration.

Using commission-earning agents to deliver physical cash when nearly all other government welfare schemes operate seamlessly through direct electronic banking was an unnecessary drain on public funds. Ending this middleman-driven system closes administrative loopholes and ensures taxpayer money is managed responsibly.
