Reciprocate gesture

A rape victim’s statement alone is sufficient for booking a rapist and for that no witness is needed. And in that case G Sukumaran Nair of the NSS coming as a person in close watch of  Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman P J Kurien in his odd hours seems curious. When Opposition leader VS Achuthanandan demands P J Kurien to step down from his present post on the wake of allegations, it is a finger directed to the police officer Sibi Mathews who inquired the case,  upon whom VS had kept abundant faith until this time.  The latest development in the Suryanelli incident places Sibi Mathews also in suspicion.

The  incidents that NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair giving statement in favor of Kurien, and  on the basis of that statement Kurien being acquitted, are now seems very interesting when Kurien comes in rescue of Sukumaran Nair for his foul speak. Kurien’s speak in support of Sukumaran Nair is a reciprocate gesture for the favours he received.

Birth rationale

Photo: The road to heaven !

The Mathrubhumi News Channel has accomplished its birth rationale, that is, the end of present CPM in Kerala, with an exclusive interview with party veteran V S Achuthanandan. Achuthanandan in the interview said he was ousted from the politburo, where he had served for 24 years, for standing with the truth that corruption had taken place in Lavlin dealings. The repercussion in the party would be far reaching and may lead to an immediate collapse of the party. The central committee member T M Thomas Isaac has taken a safe stance by disowning VS while the Secretaries of the State and Central Committees of the party are in no hurry to impede the course.

A tough time waits for Karat and coterie in the party.

Lesser Commission.

Photo: A w e S o M e P L a C E 's

The veteran leader V S Achuthanandan is a matter of irritation for State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan for quite long and that is why more troubles surface in the party. The report by the investigation commission P Karunakran MP, against VS is in tune with the wishes of the State Secretary.  It has become a funny fashion in the party that some low profile leaders making unfavorable report against top leaders.  P Karaunakaran is not a competent person to make a report against VS.

By reading Karunakaran’s report one is compelled to believe that minister Sivaraj Patil, justices KG Balakrishnan, HL Dathu, VK Bali  and liaison agent  Nandakumar, whom VS had allegedly contacted, came straight forward and revealed the matter to  Karunakaran commission.

The present development in the party is a matter of distress for CPM sympathizers. The things are becoming worse in the Kerala State Unit of the CPM

India’s greatest tragedy is the acute poverty among common people. Rulers stay in star hotels and dictate none-senses like 600 rupee is sufficient for 5 member family to live contentedly for one month.  No political leader is interested to make change in this. Only personal interest matters at the cost of common interest and hence the oil price is hiked day by day. Corruption prevailing in India is patronised by all classes of people especially politicians, and bureaucrats.  It is doubtful how one single individual like Rahul Gandhi will be able to give clean and efficient governess.

Under educated Rahul Gandhi does not know what he is or what he should do. So it is unfortunate for the nation to have him in the top post. The sycophants in the Congress who clapped and cried together with Rahul in his ordination as  Vice President of the party are hoping for a  good buck when Rahul comes to power.

Melodrama in its horrible form

Photo

After eight years experiment with Congress party now only after becoming its Vice-President Rahul Gandhi felt the importance of a melodrama for Congress to win in the next election.  What we see when Rahul says that his mother wept embracing him, is an abject work of the Congress  business school managers.

Perhaps the mother said to his son like this : “My son, now I could hold you in my arms. And whom do you hold close when you reach my age?” The mother then wept.

Dead on duty

The constable’s tragic death is a lesson for all. Steps should be taken to avert the recurrence of such incidents. Human life is precious — whether it is that of the hapless victim of gangrape or of the policeman who sacrificed his life.

The Catholic church in Kerala has decided to introduce sex education into its catechism curriculum. This is a welcome step, provided it reduces sex-related abuses in the community. However, it would be difficult for Catholic priests and nuns, who practise celibacy, to take sex education classes. There is also the risk of religious values clouding the minds of those imparting such education. This will confuse and misguide the students.
Sex-education classes should be handled by psychologists under the guidance of the church. And the church authorities must step out of the orthodoxy of Christian concepts of sexuality, and strive to impart the kind of education that will help the students lead a healthy life.

Small doze of oil price hike.

Seemingly the Central Ministry has fallen in the hands of oil barons to rob the country. The wily   reforms decision for a partial deregulation is a pointer in this direction. Allowing a hike of 50 paise a litre per month for retail customers the Government would worsen the life of poor people. The price of essential commodities will escalate further and the beneficiary for this ploy is oil barons and their political god fathers. The immediate surge in oil stocks stresses that the future is for Reliance, Aban, Essar etc.

Certainly the government has taken a wrong decision. The advisors to the ministry at the Centre think that the people will not immediately protest against a small doze of poison injection in the form of oil price hike. And that is why a recurring hike of 50 paise per litre is proposed. It is better for Manmohan Inc to resign and hand over power to some honest men who keep real concern about the poor.

Abandon the courts!

Photo: Nice Location <3

[[Basil Eldhose Vichattu]]

All evils in Kerala start off due to the wrong liquor policy of the Government.   The Kerala government is collecting money by making all citizens to drink profusely. Our new generation cinema non-senses are best examples showing a society spoilt by excessive consumption of liquor. It is a pity to see that money from liquor and lottery are major source all development work. The poor and uneducated are the victims of these ruthless governmental proceeds.

The excise minister K Babu says the Courts are the real impediment for implementing the liquor policy of the Government. .Then, why can’t the government think off abandoning the courts?

Fake show

Photo: Like>>>>>>>> MalluLive.com - Kerala Real Estate
Good night

The six-day-old strike by a section of employees and teachers in Kerala against government's decision to introduce Contributory Pension Scheme was a fake show. It was intended to hoodwink all the youths who search for a job. The CM says that the government has not even a single paise gain out of the implementation of Contributory Pension Scheme. What the government  then need is something different.

The Government wants to make another pension age hike for a provisional escape from coming financial crunch. It could not do it straightaway because of looming protest from the unemployed youths. With the six day present strike all youth organisations except KSU  came in rescue of employees and teachers. So the Government could easily implement pension age hike without much intricacy.

And in this foul play the employees get 60 year pension age hike. The real losers are unemployed youths who are in queue for a job quite long.

Teach Pakistan a lesson

Photo

The UPA II government of India has to wake from its sleep; otherwise it may be too late to teach Pakistan a lesson. Time for fairness is over and it is time for action.

Seemingly Pakistan does not know the meaning of kindness and hence we should be more careful about our enemies. Only a strong government with strong determination could avert further mishaps. Our Army should be equipped with a strong contingent of soldiers with modern gadgets. Utmost care should be taken that no untoward incident of the sort may happen in future.

Expressing solidarity with the strike.

The protest of government employees and teachers in Kerala is not all against the UDF government's decision to implement Contributory Pension Scheme , I think, but against the inaction of the government against the spiraling of the price of essential commodities. What the Congress leaders doing in the State is: disfiguring the street with flex and posters of them without any concern about the poor masses. Not even an inch of space is left on street walls to affix the posters anything else. It seems that all the public buildings are owned by Congress leaders for affixing the posters of their thick skinned faces.
The Congress leader and the Prime Minister visiting Kerala and again announcing the possibility of yet another fuel price hike is highly intolerable and for that single reason protest from all sections are needed for removing Chandy Government in Kerala and Manmohan Inc in Delhi.

I express my solidarity with the staff and teachers, employees of Kerala State Road Transport Corporation and others who are now on strike. Even if the strike is 'politically motivated,' there is no harm. It is for a novel cause.

Sex is a divine gift for Christians!

The Catholic Church in Kerala going to introduce sex education into the catechism curriculum is a welcome step provided it reduces sex related abuses among the community. However it would be a tough time for catholic priests and nuns who practice absolute celibacy to deliver such classes. How could one speak about sex without experiencing it once in a life time?

The religious classes up to tenth standard in Sunday schools are managed by youngsters who do not even know about menstrual cycle. Interestingly as some uninformed priests also keep a similar view and they are unable to handle sex education classes. What they know only is the proclamation of Powathil Thirumeni asking Christian couple to procreate profusely. Bishop Powathil can say like this because the laity associated with him is rich and are able to feed children a dozen or more. Nevertheless, for poor catholic fishermen residing in the cost of Arabian sea are unable to give good food and education to their children. When the Government of India speaks about single child it is impudent on the part of catholic clergies to argue against government policy.

If sex-education classes are handled by psychologists and counselors working in that field it will be alright but it is unlikely to happen in Sunday schools as many of the schools are incapable of bringing experts for classes. Christian concept of sexuality should not be for producing more children but for inculcating good manners and well behaviour.

Victim's identity

The ill-fated young rape victim has become a cause for the government to amend rape laws and make them tougher. I agree with Mr. Tharoor that her identity should be revealed. A gallantry award can be instituted in her name to honour women who fight sexual abuse.

Arya murder case

It is a landmark judgment from an Indian court and that too within nine months to award death sentence to a criminal who raped and murdered the 10th standard girl Arya. Let this Judgment show way to other similar cases relating criminals who are elected as members in law making bodies. The work of the police, the court and the public prosecutor are exemplary, however the prosecutor dedicating the verdict to the Delhi gang-rape victim is a non-sense. Court verdicts are not songs or shows to dedicate to any one.

Again, the photo and whereabouts of Arya were published by media instantaneously and why this rule is not applicable in Delhi victim’s case.

Suryanelli ‘Madam’

Photo

The Suryanelli rape case is a boltch on Malayali’s face as the case concerns a 16-year-old girl who was sexually harassed and assaulted continuously for 40 days by 42 men in 1996.The accused included some well-known and well-placed individuals not to name one now. On 20 January 2005, the Kerala High Court acquitted the 35 convicted earlier and found only one guilty. All others escaped from punishment. The case is now in the Supreme Court and the Court is about take a decision.

Shockingly it has been reported that there was a rape attempt against the ‘girl’ by a person in the office of her present employer, the State Government of Kerala. This is highly obnoxious and an immediate rescue is needed for her.

The media was celebrating the case all the time and is still calling her as ‘Suryanelli girl’. And in all probability as the case may prolong for another five years, it would be better to call her ‘Suryanelli Ma'am’ instead of Surynelli girl. She has now attained the age of 33.

Kerala was once described as “a mental asylum” by none other than swami Vivekananda. That was about sixty years back. The great saint was shocked by the false notions and old customs existed in this land then. Nevertheless, he was a not a part of the Central Government.

And now, Defence Minister A K Antony is playing Swami Vivekananda II by detonating a bomb aimed at Kerala society, enthusing a highly fanatic nair namely the NSS General Secretary. Antony said that Kerala has been fast losing its communal harmony and if matters go on like this; the state will soon turn out to be a lunatic asylum. I hope Sukumaran Nair has not heeded this.

Antony was in the State and Central ministry for many years. If matters have worsened to that low, he also owns some responsibility. Playing Vivekananda II in the haven of hard core communal fanatics is incomprehensible.

Photo: GOOD MORNING FRIENDS HAVE A NICE DAY

In this country many a girl are brutally raped, killed and left unknown. The ill-fated girl of Delhi has become a cause for the Government to wake up and frame proper rules in dealing with rape occurrences. Hence I agree with minister Tharoor's proposition that the Delhi girl’s name should be revealed.

A gallantry award can be instituted in her name to honor one among all women who fight against sexual abuses.

Candles in memory

All kind-hearted people inside the country and outside lighted candles in memory of Delhi braveheart who fought a brave battle for her life. Many stood with folded hands, sobbed, prayed, and hoped for no recurrence. The government started to think about greater protection for women from sexual violence.

Bur alas! the news pouring from Delhi in the very first day of the New Year is also unpleasant because an unsullied fact has emerged about a minor girl being molested in a bus. The need is, therefore, better education, better law and order, speedy court proceedings, and a total ban of drugs and liquors.
