Street vandalism and court order

#Street vandalism and court order
The blatant disregard for judicial mandates, as witnessed during the recent protests by political youth wings where massive quantities of illegal flex boards and banners were erected and subsequently vandalized, represents an unacceptable challenge to the rule of law.

The Kerala High Court’s strict directives were implemented precisely to eradicate the visual clutter, environmental hazards, and public nuisance caused by unauthorized hoardings on public roads and government land. For political entities and rival groups to flood the streets with illegal displays shows a profound contempt for judicial authority and public order.

Responsibility for this brazen violation lies squarely on multiple shoulders, starting with the political organizations and activists who willfully defy court orders for mobilization and showmanship.

Again, Local Self-Government Institution (LSGI) secretaries and municipal authorities bear administrative accountability, as the court explicitly holds local bodies liable for permitting or failing to clear such unauthorized material.

To restore public trust and uphold judicial integrity, authorities must enforce heavy financial penalties on the sponsoring entities, recover costs from negligent officials, and take strict legal action against those who treat public spaces as lawless zones for political confrontation.
