#Stop Campus terror
The current crisis in Kerala University is a stark reflection of the deep-rooted political decay orchestrated by the ruling CPM and its student wing, the SFI.
It is utterly shameful that a constitutional authority like the Vice Chancellor is being openly threatened as he was told that his legs will be broken if he enters the campus. The government turns a blind eye toward it by making police toothless.
Instead of ensuring law and order or protecting academic autonomy, the the higher education ministry has weaponised student outfits to intimidate, obstruct, and paralyse the functioning of the university. The so-called "Red bastion" of education has become a theatre of hooliganism, where education takes a backseat and party-driven vendetta rules the day.
The tears shed on television over delayed degree certificates are misplaced if they ignore the thuggery and lawlessness promoted by the very government responsible for it.
This orchestrated chaos is a clever diversion from the real issue, the massive corruption and administrative failure of the state government. The ruling party, unable to justify its inefficiency and mounting scandals, uses the SFI as a shield to suppress dissent and distract the public. If the CPM State Secretary truly desired peace, a single word would be enough to rein in the SFI. That he chooses silence shows complicity.
The government’s inaction is not incompetence but deliberate strategy. It has abdicated its constitutional responsibility and surrendered our universities to partisan mobs.
The people of Kerala must rise above party politics and demand an end to this reign of campus terror and ideological brainwashing.
