#Act firmly
The recent actions by members of SFI, DYFI, and AIYF jumping over police barricades near Raj Bhavan & Kerala University and trespassing into the Vice Chancellor's residence, are serious criminal offenses and must be strongly condemned. Such acts not only break the law but also pose a threat to public safety and the dignity of institutions.
Jumping or damaging police barricades is a violation under Section 285 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with causing danger or obstruction in public places. It is a cognizable offense, meaning the police can arrest without a warrant. These are not harmless protests, they are reckless and unlawful activities that disturb peace and show blatant disregard for the law. Instead of taking action the police remained as muft spectators.
Trespassing into the private residence of the Vice Chancellor is even more shocking and cannot be tolerated in a civilized society. It clearly falls under house-trespass, a punishable crime with imprisonment or fine under Indian law. Such intrusions are meant to threaten, intimidate, and create chaos, which is unacceptable in any democratic setup.
The government and law enforcement authorities must act firmly by registering criminal cases against all those responsible. Holding the offenders accountable under appropriate legal sections is the only way to protect our institutions and ensure that such lawless behavior is not repeated.
