Had it not been Jayarajan it would have turned into a matter of protest for the LDF against the Police Minister Oommen Chandy for permitting the police to showcase a convict at various road junctions for reception on his way to Poojappura from Kochi. Instead taking him safely to Central Prison, Police allowed Jayarajan to gesticulate before the crowd, which is in fact, a terrible lapse on the part of the police. Jayarajan was saluted at different junctions by the comrades for his ‘great valour’ in ridiculing two high court judges and making offensive comment beyond controllable limits. The police act created a wrong impression in the minds of people that a convict jailed for six months can be a hero.
The Chief Minister should look into the matter and initiate necessary action for the lapse on the side of the police who had taken Jayarajan to Poojappura.
