Futile ‘Yathra’ of Advani.

Political leaders often organise Padayathra or Rathyathra in the eve of general elections to the Parliament or State Assemblies. And in that respect BJP senior leader L K Advani’s Chetna Yatra was not seasonal and it was rather futile. Except a few bomb scares in his journey there were no remarkable incidents to add political mileage to the BJP.
The Chetna Yatra, which is slated to take him to 23 states in 38 days addressing public meetings, has indeed failed to inspire the masses or mobilise the party cadres to work with a pristine unity. Instead in Sates like Kerala BJP’s party head supported ‘Shumban ‘comment of a Marxist leader and favoured the road side public meeting by political parties. This unwarranted negative attitude towards judiciary favouring CPM comrade has added advantage to Marxist party and people who trusted BJP for good many things have started introspecting. If no difference between CPM and BJP what is the fun in going hand-in-hand with BJP when supporters of the party are too little in the State.

The octogenarian leader Advani has nothing novel to place before the people and his speeches lacked vision. He has no concrete idea about combating corruption and revealing black money in Swiss banks. The Chetna Yathra was a good opportunity to expose all sort of corruption by the UPA II Government, nevertheless Advani had done little.
