It seems like a new language and a new grammar have been formed in political parties in Alappuzha. Some activists are shouting from the audience that calling someone who has left the party “comrade” is a great crime
Only comrades believe that the word comrade is so great. To know how others view the word, one only has to browse social media. “Swarnam Kattavanarappa, Sakhakalanane Ayyappa” is a popular folk song that is widely heard.
If we look at the political history of Alappuzha, many leaders there have changed parties and renewed alliances many times. It was he who made all those in Alappuzha as comrades. In fact, who else but Sudhakaran, was in charge of the party for 63 years? He was the most prominent person who taught the great lesson of alliance in Alappuzha, Party Secretary MA Baby himself has stated that Sudhakaran is his political guru.
For some, he going to contest as an independent without renewing his membership seems like the biggest sin in the world. But if the same Sudhakaran had joined any party, they would have described it as a natural process of politics.
If one listens to this political rhetoric, which is ready to push him into an alliance with the "Indi" party he has to openly expresses his inclination towards the Congress.
If he needs to stand independently, it seems that the only place where he can work peacefully is the BJP.
Therefore, he should have joined the BJP and taken a strong stand. With that, the mouths of some people who are insulting him will be shut.
In politics, alliances and friendships can change within hours these days. The manly words spoken today will have to be swallowed without having water tomorrow. If that does not happen, it would be good if the party leaders understand that it is better to exercise some restraint in their speeches and allegations.
The main reason for Sudhakaran's departure from his old political party was not for prestige, but the fear of being ruled by those inferior to him in both education, experience and service
