Mani’s unkindest cut.

It was an unexpected severe blow on the face of Kerala educated youths by the UDF Government with its increasing of retirement age of Government employees and teachers from 55 to 56 in the budget. The Finance Minister K M Mani who draws holy cross on his forehead dozen times a day might not have done this cruelty to the young job seekers. Mani’s weeping even at the death of a fly in Pala or elsewhere is a mere act because he keeps a stiff heart to do such a horrifying act to youngsters. Mani’s predecessor T M Thomas Isaac is also equally responsible for this imbroglio. The State governess by withholding retirement benefits of the employees by not allowing them to retire at 55 is of very bad connotation. And hence there is all the possibility for another hike to 58 in the coming year.

Mani’s finding that ours is the only state where state government employees retire at age 55, is of poor undertone as ours is the only state where the percentage of the educated youths is the highest. The Chief Minister Oommen Chandy lost all his credibility by withdrawing from his earlier assurance to the youths of the State.
