Decrying prayers

#Decrying prayers
In yet another bout of irony, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has once again stirred controversy by decrying initial prayers at public functions, much to the chagrin of organizers.

For the Marxists, prayer is dismissed as nonsensical unless it's packaged and sold, like the pilgrimage sites of Guruvayur and Sabarimala, which miraculously become lucrative.

In a tongue-in-cheek proposal to replace prayers, one might suggest a communal sip of liquor to kick off public events—a nod to the state government's revenue-generating liquor sales. Because why pray for blessings when you can toast to them with a government-endorsed beverage?

The irony flows as smoothly as the alcohol tax into state coffers, proving once again that in Kerala, even spiritual devotion can be distilled into economic pragmatism.
