The election of next President is in the offing, hence many
leaders have their suggestions. Sushama of BJP favours Dr APJ Abdul Kalam,
Jayalalithaa of AIADMK needs Sangma, Marxist
comrade Yetchury endorses Pranab Kumar Mukherji, and outspoken woman Mamta
requires soft-spoken lady Meira Kumar. Gopal Krishna Gandhi is also a prospective
candidate. The Congress President has opened her mouth not yet. Sangma and Meira
Kumar are from scheduled caste background and hence it is difficult woo all
SCs by choosing only one.
I wonder about the way by which the most entitled
candidate Dr Kalam has been pushed to corner by crafty politicians.
So my suggestion is:
Think of constituting a presidential bench similar to Supreme Court bench
accommodating all the potential candidates for presidential post because ours
is a coalition government.
