Mannam Samadhi should be made a public monument

#Mannam #Samadhi should be made a public monument.
The negative stance taken by NSS General Secretary Sukumaran Nair questions the constitutional respect of the country and the democratic nature of public places. Denying even the Vice President of India entry to Mannam Samadhi is nothing but a manifestation of personal political animosity.

The memorial of a great person named Mannam is not a private fortress of any organization; it is a public monument of the social history of Kerala. This approach of insulting even those with constitutional positions by insisting on keeping BJP leaders away is making the organization undemocratic. This is not permissible, it is an insult to the important positions of the nation.

The Central Government can take legal and administrative action against such actions. Mannam Samadhi should be declared a public monument and brought under the control of the Center or the State. Facilities should be provided for the public to freely enter and pay floral tributes there. Security and cleanliness should be ensured.

It is a dangerous trend to allow even those in public office to be banned based on the decision of a private organization. Therefore, this stance of the NSS General Secretary should be strongly condemned and the government should take the responsibility of converting Mannam Samadhi into a public monument open to all.
