Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said
“Muslims can continue to live in this country, but they will have to give up
eating beef because the cow is an article of faith here”. This is sheer
non-sense and is equivalent to saying “Hindus can live in this country, but
they will have to give up drinking cow milk”.
The Chief Ministers of the country should be a little
more reasonable to avoid such baseless statements. On cultural and ritual
matters one could not make commands, likewise on food habits. The statement
made by minister is aimed at vote bank of Hindus. The CM of Haryana should find
time to read the provisions in constitution
of India before making further stupid statements. He should also understand
that beef is red meat and it is not only of cow but that of buffaloes and
bullocks too.
