An upset West Bengal chief minister Mamata
Banerjee said "Delhi is not safe. I was manhandled. When I tried to get down
at the Planning Commission, the police did not cooperate at all”. I think Didi
has mistaken because Delhi is the replica of any other part of the country. The
reason for attack on her and her minister is that she has little followers in
Delhi. If it were any leader other than Mamta the CPM leaders would have felt
the heat. Remember the incidence of damaging Yetchuri’s car in Delhi when there
was a scuffle elsewhere by CPM cadres.
Attacks are often cowed by counter attacks and
not by police. The attack on Mamta and minister Amit Mitra is condemnable.
