Mob psychology.

The huge protest at Delhi against gang rape defying the police force is a part of mob psychology. The agitators will soon become passive and they even not respond to their neighbour getting raped by someone. The Delhi victim’s case was the rarest but several similar incidents happen unnoticed or not protested. Has any agency any record of unmarried mothers among tribal communities who were tortured by gangsters? 

We had witnessed recently that Anna Hasare’s protest against corruption that attracted many youths but it subdued because of reasons unknown. Likewise the present protest against gang rape will subdue soon. The youth protesters who jumped in street are all not that much virtuous.

A democratic country could admit only peaceful marches. Mass hysteria and mass violence should be proscribed. It is the responsibility of the government to punish sex maniacs. We need permanent fast track courts in all parts of the country for atrocities against women. All pending cases must be fast tracked and culprits should be punished. Our judicial system should be revamped for speedy disposal of cases especially those relating crime against women.
