CPI-M leader's arrest
The arrest of the CPI-M leader, M M Mani, can be attributed to the error of his counsel who advised him not to turn up for a polygraph test for the probe in connection with his controversial speech on the need to weed out his party rivals. His arrest is not a piece of big news; his crime deserves punitive action. The CPM-M, now rather ineffective in Kerala, has called a bandh in Idukki. There may be another hartal if the party's district secretary ~ also an accused in the case ~ is also arrested. Mani's speech has embarrassed the party which must rein in the loudmouths.
