For quite long the KSEB has become a nightmare to power
consumers in Kerala. And with the regulatory commission permitting it to levy
double charge per unit from consumers using above 300 units in a month is an
added misery. It is a pity that there is
no substitute for KSEB when all other sectors have been privatised by the
Government.
The KSEB action of load-shedding for one hour a day is a
futile gesture. It is a ploy to hoodwink the poor and to promote the inverter
industry. The rich ones find no problem during power cut because of the backups they maintain at home and offices.
The frequent hike in power price not only siphons
consumers’ money but increases the price of essential commodities.
