Old man’s pleasure

The court procedure is a cumbersome process for majority of the public and hence they try to opt out from it by all means. However, for the 90 plus leader of Opposition in Kerala, court proceedings are a matter of ecstasy.  He now approached the Kerala High Court seeking a CBI probe into the Solar Panel cheating case, in which Saritha Nair and Biju Radhakrishnan are the key accused. Achuthanandan also sought investigations by the Enforcement Directorate, the Corporate Affairs Department and the Income Tax Department into the source of the income of the accused persons.

One wonders why there is none other than Achuthanandan in the Marxist party to file case in a judicial forum, when there is no dearth for Central and State Committee members who are much younger than the veteran leader. It is not the petitioner but his counsel decides the course of a petition in the court.  Then, why the party still disturb the ‘grand old man’( courtesy Yogam Sceretary)  with all sleaze cases and legal trials?
