It is astounding to see that the poor man’s party the CPI(M) is spending Rs 7crore for its party congress in Kozhikode. The inflow of the huge amount for the six-day national conference is seemingly from corporate houses.
This extravagance is nothing new to a party that runs TV channels, theme parks, multispecialty hospitals and what else. And if a part of this overspending were saved it could have been advantageously used for the rehabilitation of many homeless and education of the children of poor.
