It lacks logic on the part of IUML leaders to demand fifth minister in the Kerala cabinet. The IUML with twenty MLAs has already four ministers and demanding one more is out of the ordinary. If one minister is for four MLAs is the share there should be thirty five minsters in the cabinet, which is unbearable for small state like Kerala.
Moreover, as correctly put by V S Achuthanandan, Kerala's communal structures will be affected if Indian Union Muslim League has been given a fifth ministerial berth in the Kerala cabinet. The fifth ministerial post is an redundant item.
