Harsh decision by CPM
The denial of entry of Kerala veteran and former Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan to the CPM politburo is detrimental to the party. And it is anybody's guess the immediate repercussions that would surface within the Kerala unit of the CPM
It is Achuthanandan and not Pinarayi or S Ramachandran Pillai, the mass leader who brought a face saving victory in the last Assembly elections.
The leaders who extensively deliberated on the national and international political situation have not seen the writing on the wall. Probably Achuthanandan’s age is the sole reason for the higher-ups of the party to take this harsh decision as the aged leader is too weak for a fresh agitation within the party. Let us wait and see.
