It is already a financially challenging time for many people.of Kerala. Then the decision by the Congress party to resort to emergency fundraising through coupon distribution at the grassroots level raises concerns about the potential burden it may place on the people.
While political parties need resources to conduct effective election campaigns, the timing and method chosen by the Congress party could exacerbate the financial strain on the electorate. This approach also opens the door for other parties to follow suit, further burdening the populace.
Given the potential ramifications on the electorate and the fairness of the electoral process, it is imperative for the Election Commission to intervene and establish guidelines or regulations regarding political fundraising during election periods. Such measures could ensure transparency and prevent undue influence. It will also protect the financial well-being of citizens.
So it is essential for electoral processes to prioritize fairness and integrity, safeguarding the democratic principles on which they are built.
