Rahul Mankottathil should not resign

#Rahul #Mamkootathil
Amid the flurry of allegations, what stands out in the case against MLA Rahul Mamkootathil is the absence of solid proof. Much of the noise originates from certain media outlets, notably Reporter TV, which have a history of running paid campaigns.

In the era of artificial intelligence, creating fake calls, chats, or even convincing videos is no challenge. When such material suddenly floods the public space, it raises a serious question. Are we witnessing truth or a well-orchestrated character assassination? The loopholes are glaring enough to caution against rushing to judgment.

Rahul Mamkootathil is one of the few young Congress leaders who has shown the courage to openly confront Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. That defiance alone makes him a target for the ruling front. Demands for his resignation, before due process establishes facts, amount to political victimisation.

If morality is to be the yardstick, leaders across the spectrum should examine their own record before casting stones. Rahul should not resign his MLA post because esignation under pressure would only reward vested interests. The wiser path for Rahul is to hold his ground, face scrutiny, and prove his innocence, rather than bow out prematurely.
