Global Ayyappa Summit

#Global #Ayyappa Summit
The Kerala government’s decision to organize a Global Ayyappa Summit shows a lack of clear priorities.

At a time when the state is facing serious issues such as the unresolved Kerala University turmoil, financial stress, unemployment, and the everyday struggles of ordinary people, giving importance to such a summit appears unnecessary and misplaced.

Religion and faith are personal matters, and the government should not use them as tools to divert people’s attention from pressing problems. Instead of solving real issues that affect the future of students and the well-being of citizens, the government seems more interested in creating events that generate political noise.

Moreover, the timing of this summit makes the government’s intentions even more questionable. With elections approaching, the move appears to be a political strategy to stir emotions and distract the public from governance failures.

The people of Kerala need solutions to burning issues, not controversies over religion. Organizing such a summit, especially when led by people who are not genuine followers of Ayyappa, only deepens mistrust and creates unnecessary tension.

A responsible government should focus on stability, education, development, and people’s welfare instead of fishing in troubled waters with thoughtless religious spectacles.
