Gimmick to cover up failures

#Gimmick to cover up failures
The present political leaders of Kerala, whether in the ruling LDF or the opposition UDF, have reduced politics to a business of votes and money. They shamelessly knock at the doors of ordinary people not only to beg for votes but also to demand donations, as if the public owes them for doing nothing.

Instead of standing with the people, they have perfected the art of extracting money through unfair means like nokkukooli and party levies. Trade unions, under their patronage, are filled with party workers who neither work nor produce, but survive by threatening citizens and businesses. This has created a climate of fear and exploitation, making politics in Kerala a burden rather than a service.

Now, at the fag end of their rule, these same leaders suddenly speak of "seeking public opinion" for development projects. Where were they all these years when the state desperately needed vision and planning?

It is clear that this move is nothing but a gimmick to cover up their failures and to polish their image before elections. Real leadership means long-term planning, consistent action, and accountability and not last-minute promises.

The foul game of Kerala’s political heads has left the people frustrated and cheated, as both fronts continue to put party interests above public welfare.
