Re ‘Voices that want to be heard’ by Shevlin Sebastian (TNIE 29 Mar 2010)
As mentioned in the write-up letter writing is a passionate hobby for many. But, the ‘Chivas Regal’ writers could not focus their attention on matters other than the length of Sania Mirza’s shorts or Serena Williams’ muscles. The candle light dinner is for elite class of writers and they are unlikely to spot the troubles of BPL men or those who are employed under NREGP.
Nevertheless, I appreciate the NIE assignment for the get-together of letter writers on the eastern side of Vembanadu Lake. Why can’t one convene an assembly of the writers on the western side?
