Denigration by former Speaker.

 CPM leader M. Vijayakumar’s statement to the effect that “Shashi Tharoor has a doctorate in violence against women” is shameful and against the election code of conduct. Defamation of a candidate of this sort not only damaged the standing of Vijayakumar as  ‘once good minister and an able Speaker of the Kerala Assembly’.

Vijayakumar’s act is an instance of denigration and slur being intentionally carried out to portray Tharoor as one who harmed women.
