Report that unable to get a few junked currency notes exchanged, a frustrated poor woman became topless in front of RBI regional office New Delhi, is curious. Though this sort of protest is unwarranted the action of the woman is a pointer to the thoughtless acton of RBI. The RBI, which is issuing circulars day by day since demonetisation, has stepped back from their earlier stance. PM Modi in his November 8 address to nation had promised that old notes could be exchanged at select branches of RBI after December. If NewDelhi office is not a select branchh, RBI should have told the woman about this instead of forcefully pushing her out.
People are of firm fix that government should not go back on the promise made by Prime Minister. It is, in fact, the RBI and other bank branches are worsening the crisis
