Both Defence Minister A K Antony and Army chief Gen V K Singh put the blame for the age controversy on the Army, saying it sat on the problem for 36 years. This seems rather curious as both Antony and Singh are the part of the Indian Army. As Antony has said the matter was with the Supreme Court and its verdict in this regard would be final and binding, then why he is making repeated comments on the subject. Has he got any intention to invite the attention of SC judges? I think the the Delhi winter has influenced Antony much and that is why he is making repeated comments. The General has seemingly submitted his application at entry stage with year of birth as 1950 as the requirement then was that. Now only he realized the advantage being it at 1951. The year 1950 or 51 will become meaningless after one year then why the General is making such a hue and cry over his date of birth? The General might not have taken the matter with the SC.
