Sachithanandan poem

Sachidanandan Poem
The feeling that the time has come when the governance and continuity of Kerala will no longer be decided by the people, but by poets and academy chairmen, is what one gets when listening to K. Sachidanandan's new political poem. The literary charm of this is that he came to realize the great discovery that "fronts should take turns governing" only after both fronts had plunged the state into debt, sent the youth to the airport, and turned universities into protest sites.

To those who have put a public debt of one and a half lakh rupees on the shoulders of each child, without asking who caused all this disaster, and to say the general slogan that we should take turns governing in a democracy becomes a safe and irresponsible stance like a weather report.

What is even more interesting is that this advice is as if we have not seen the 'indi alliance governance culture' created by the two fronts acting like the A-team and the B-team in Kerala.  At a time when the opposition has joined hands with the ruling party, the strike has become a formula, and backdoor appointments have become a public policy, the phrase “If we rule alternately, the country will be saved” is not a poem, but a political comedy.

Such advice, given by some cultural voices who recognize the direction in which the flow is going and flow with the same flow, is becoming an echo that only resonates on the microphone on the stage without touching the real suffering of the people. The poem of Sachidanandan is not a balm that will cure anyone’s headache here

Struggle season two

#Struggle Season Two
If this is Kerala University’s “Struggle Season 2”, then the government’s response is the “Silence Season Finale”. When the SFI student organization vandalized the Kerala University Registrar’s Office, the Chief Minister, who is handling the Home Department, was in a state of meditation. The state of the Kerala Police, which is waiting without confronting the protesters until the Governor opens his eyes, is pathetic

One police for Pinarayi, who is handling the Home Department, and another police for the Kerala Governor. Is this a constitutional experiment or is it the title of the handbook in the new curriculum “Two Powers, One Law”?. It would be very appropriate if the brochure of Kerala University, which the government calls the hub of higher education, included pictures of barricades, water cannons and lathis to attract foreign students.

Where is the Higher Education Minister, who regularly arrives with the Bharatanatyam symbol and a punch thrown in the air when SFI riots start? Is she also in a state of meditation like the Chief Minister?  The minister's indifference during the protests has become an academic experiment. Whose head came up with the theory that if the protests are ignored, they will end on their own?

The government's indifference when a few students caught up in political exuberance hold the university hostage raises the question of whether there is a government here. If the government's policy is to watch everything and not stop any violence, it would be better to put up a sign that Kerala University is not a center of learning, but a permanent center of protest.

New Innings Plan

#NewInnings #Plan
Not in this year's budget, but in last year's Kerala budget, the government announced a grand scheme called "New Innings" for senior citizens. This scheme was introduced with the lofty aim of including senior citizens in active socio-cultural and health activities. It sounded like the name of a national award-winning film. But nothing happened

The Finance Minister had proudly announced that Rs 5 crore had been allocated for the implementation of the scheme. But after the budget speech ended, it seemed as if the government itself had doubts about whose innings this "New Innings" actually was. No specific benefits such as direct financial assistance or new pensions for senior citizens were clearly announced.

Conceptually, it was known as a welfare and rehabilitation scheme based on the grand philosophy of "active aging". But if you study the history of the Kerala budget, you will understand, some schemes are made not to be implemented, but to be announced as mere ideas.  A clear example of this is the “New Innings”.

According to the information available, neither the guidelines of the scheme nor the working structure through the local self-government institutions have been fully formed. Therefore, ordinary senior citizens have not received any service that can be directly experienced under the name of this scheme. Special health service - no. Employment opportunity - no. Monthly assistance - no. Training programs. no. Entertainment - no. In short, the name “New Innings” is only in the name, the innings have not started.

Now the state of this scheme is like that of a Thirunakkara boat - it is still lying there. Without moving even an inch from the announcement stage, without providing any practical benefit to senior citizens, the “New Innings” is resting peacefully.

The fate of most of the schemes announced through the budget by the current and .former Finance Ministers is the same: some schemes are not for implementation, but for newsworthiness!

What do the people want?

#What do the people want?
Expressing the desire to become an MLA candidate while still holding the position of MP is an open insult to political decency.

A fixed term is given to the elected representative of the people to intervene in national-level issues and be the voice of the constituency. The MPs elected from Kerala have a term of three more years. Trying to jump to another position without completing that term in the hope of gaining power is a tendency to insult the will of the people.

It is unfortunate that such moves are based on the calculation that becoming a minister will bring more benefits. When the perception that politics is not about service but profit is strengthened, the values of democracy are trampled on.
Therefore, the desire of MPs to become MLA candidates should be strongly questioned. Resigning from the MP position first should be an ethical and legal criterion if one wants to contest. Otherwise, allowing the approach of holding both will be opportunistic.

Democracy should never glorify leaders who run for the position of minister without fulfilling the responsibility given to them by the people.  There should be a law in the country that does not allow leaders to contest another election without completing their term of office

The people's desire is clear, Kerala and the country need representatives who will faithfully carry out the assigned duties, not politicians who play by changing positions.

Sari and Churidar

#Sari and #Churidar
Teachers' attire should be decided based on their work comfort and efficiency. Churidar is more practical and convenient for teachers who have to perform diverse responsibilities such as not only in the classroom but also in lab activities, sports activities, school programs, etc.

It is not appropriate for a civilized society to measure a teacher's qualifications and discipline by the form of the clothes she wears. Respecting the constitutional value that clothing is part of personal freedom, teachers have the right to choose clothes that do not hinder their work and are decent.

The security guard, on the instructions of the manager of the Kottarakkara Neduvathur Eeshwaravilasam School, did not allow the headmistress to enter the school wearing a churidar. How does a school gatekeeper get more power than the headmistress? Are the school run by goons?  An incident that only Number One Kerala can be proud of!

Not allowing a teacher to enter a school because she was wearing a churidar is an act that questions the freedom and dignity of women. It is the duty of teachers and students to maintain discipline and etiquette in educational institutions; but for managers to impose unnecessary dress codes in the name of that is an abuse of power and arrogance.

It is the responsibility of the government and society to convince all school and college managements who take such unwise decisions of their real responsibility.

Humay dimension

#Human #Dimension
Sadanandan Master’s act of placing his prosthetic limbs on the table of the Rajya Sabha was not a theatrical stunt but a powerful moral statement. It was a silent yet eloquent reminder of the personal cost of political violence and a testimony to what he claims to have endured in the name of ideology. Parliament is not merely a chamber of procedures; it is also a forum for truth, conscience, and lived experience.

By showing the nation what he had lost, Master sought to underline the fragility of democracy when intolerance turns into brutality. Such a gesture demands empathy and reflection, not technical hair-splitting. If democracy cannot accommodate the pain of a victim speaking through symbols, then it risks becoming an empty ritual rather than a living moral institution.

John Brittas’s objection, framed narrowly as a “point of order,” came across as insensitive and evasive. Instead of engaging with the substance of Master’s allegation and the larger issue of political violence, he chose to hide behind procedural formalism. This response appeared less like a defense of parliamentary decorum and more like an attempt to silence an uncomfortable narrative.

Ironically, when disruptions and placards have often been tolerated from opposition benches in the past, invoking rules selectively exposes a troubling double standard. True democratic spirit lies not in suppressing symbolic protest but in confronting painful truths with openness and humility.

In that sense, Brittas’s reaction diminished the dignity of the House, while Master’s gesture reaffirmed the human dimension of politics.

When syllabus is reduced

#When #syllabus is reduced.
When we hear Education Minister Sivankutty's announcement that the syllabus of Class 10 will be reduced by 25 percent, the first thing you think is whether this is an accounting exam.  The content is the same, but the size will be reduced by 25 percent.  We will have to call the mathematician Pythagoras himself again to find out how this is.

The minister says that the curriculum committee has approved the syllabus reduction;  but when the news comes out that the committee itself was not aware of this, it is natural to doubt whether the education department has become a 'note-taking department'.  When it is certain that a new government and a new minister will come next May, isn't announcing such a long-term change a sign of the minister's mentality of "let me leave a mark before I go"?

This announcement does not even show the basic sense that the syllabus is being formulated taking into account the national-level structure and coordination with other states. If we listen to the minister's explanation that the syllabus was reduced because the children complained that the syllabus was too much, will we ignore the alphabet if the class first  students say tomorrow that letters are difficult and pictures are enough?  If MBBS students say that anatomy is too long, will we suggest that they only study the heart and ignore lungs.

Education is a matter that should be pursued through scientific planning, not a matter of holding a popularity poll.  If we accept the logic that reducing the syllabus will reduce the difficulty, wouldn't it be a great relief if the exam itself was skipped tomorrow?

Is there no one in the education department who is conscious, this question should be included as a question in the textbook.

Government's interim joke

#Government's #InterimJoke
When you see a cabinet that has only a life span till mid-May presenting a full budget, it seems like a patient on his deathbed is drawing plans for a new house. Despite knowing the truth that this budget will not be applicable to the new government after the elections, Finance Minister Balagopal has spread “long-term development dreams” in abundance.

When the treasury is empty and the threat of treasury closure persists, announcing bridges, roads and a golden future is not economics, but political magic. K Rail is gone, and the Rapid Regional Transit System is coming in its place. At least a simple, catchy name could have been given to this permanent railway project.

The claim is that this is a development budget. But it is really a magic show to mesmerize some stupid voters. After the elections, the curtain will fall, the magician will go, and all that is left is a trash can.  If the new government is of the opposite party, it will be thrown into the ditch, including the trash can.

This full budget of the Left government is not a document that faces facts, but a speechbook that runs away from reality. Announcing dreams worth crores from a treasury without money is like building a sand castle from the sea. If a new government comes, all this will have to be written again.

The current budget will become a historical object under the name of “the interim joke of the interim government”. Therefore, this budget is not a road map for development, but a cartoon map of politics. The only consolation is that this budget has not been filled with gibberish like that of its predecessor, the economist.

Writing development dreams where there is no money is not a budget; it is a story that deceives the people.

Misplaced Activism

#Misplaced #Activism
The petition filed by the Save University Campaign Committee against the Padma Bhushan awarded to Vellappally Natesan is nothing but an unwarranted and ill-conceived overreach. While the committee has earned credibility for exposing corruption within universities, it has no mandate to sit in judgment over a national civilian honour decided by a constitutionally constituted selection process.

Dragging pending cases and ethical insinuations into a matter of national recognition reflects a prejudiced mindset rather than principled concern. Vellappally Natesan’s lifelong service to the Ezhava community through the SNDP Yogam and the Sree Narayana Trust, which manages numerous educational institutions, is an undeniable social contribution. Reducing his decades of public work to selective allegations is intellectually dishonest and politically motivated.

More disturbingly, the committee’s action amounts to questioning the authority and integrity of the Padma award selection mechanism itself, which is neither its role nor its competence. Natesan’s act of placing the Padma Bhushan at the feet of Sree Narayana Guru symbolised humility and reverence, and was widely appreciated across society. To interpret this honour as controversial is to disrespect both the award and the values of Sree Narayana Guru that Natesan has consistently upheld in public life.

The Save University Campaign Committee’s move appears less like a principled protest and more like a publicity stunt aimed at staying in the limelight beyond its legitimate sphere of intervention. Such misplaced activism only weakens its moral standing and diverts attention from the genuine issues within higher education that it ought to address.

Honouring Vellappally

#Honouring #Vellappally
The Padma Bhushan conferred on Vellappally Natesan is not merely an individual honour but a recognition of decades of public service rooted in social reform and community empowerment inspired by Sree Narayana Guru. As the long-serving General Secretary of the SNDP Yogam, Natesan has worked to modernise and strengthen one of Kerala’s most influential socio-spiritual organisations, ensuring that its activities remained relevant to contemporary social challenges.

That he chose to place the award at the feet of Sree Narayana Guru symbolically underscores that this honour belongs to the reformist legacy of equality, dignity and self-respect rather than to personal glory. The Ministry of Home Affairs categorising his contribution under “Public Affairs” is therefore apt, since his work has extended far beyond organisational leadership into the broader arena of social justice and public discourse.

Criticism and ridicule on social media ignore the uncomfortable truth that public life in Kerala has always been shaped by strong, outspoken figures who challenged dominant narratives. Natesan’s forthrightness, often labelled controversial, arose from his consistent attempt to safeguard the interests of his community at a time when political fronts increasingly resorted to selective appeasement and communal arithmetic.

To single him out for polarization while excusing similar or worse conduct by ministers and political leaders reflects double standards rather than principled objection. In this sense, the Padma Bhushan acknowledges a voice that refused to be silent and an organisation that remained socially engaged for decades.

Honouring Vellappally Natesan is thus not an endorsement of every statement he ever made, but a recognition of sustained service, institutional leadership, and his role in carrying forward the social mission envisioned by Sree Narayana Guru.

State microbe

#State #Microbe
Kerala is no longer just “God’s own country”, but also “Bacteria’s own country”. With the list from state bird to state crab complete, here is the state microbe proudly presented; its name is Bacillus subtilis.

This microbe, which is present in soil, water and stomach, is now officially Malayali. So, don’t be surprised if the state microbe dances at the school festival from tomorrow. Tourism branding may also come soon. : “Come to Kerala and meet our friend Bacteria” will be the slogan..

Now even when taking a vaccine, the state will have to ask “Is this a native or a guest?” The next concern is whether other states and countries will be jealous of this. What if Tamil Nadu says “Ours is Lactobacillus”, while Karnataka says “This was first grown in our soil” and files a case in the patent court?  Then the Supreme Court verdict may come like this: “Bacteria have no states or borders”

But there is no end to the declarations for Kerala. The ministers have been making fun of saying “Kerala is number one”. However, the goal is to move forward with the microbe along with what is currently there to maintain the number one position. What will be the next step?

State virus? State amoeba, 5tate worm? In any case, people will say for sure: There is no other country in the world that gives such great honor to even a small one!

Strong warning

#Strong #Warning
From the moment the BJP-Twenty Twenty alliance was announced just before the assembly elections, the regular alliances in Kerala politics have lost their sleep. It is no coincidence that a party that stands on its own two feet has joined the NDA, amidst those who label development as “corporate” and efficiency as “fascism”.

When we see the Congress and the Communists, who joined hands to defeat Twenty Twenty in the local body elections under the guise of hiding their symbols, now coming out to take a class in morality, even the word political ethics is laughable. The secular math in Kerala says that anything can be done for power, but if others join hands, that is hypocrisy.

The BJP-Twenty Twenty alliance is not just armchair politics, but development politics whose actions can be measured. This is a strong warning to the fronts that have been threatening and holding back the Christian community for years.  In the face of those who were raised by fearing the vote bank, politics that respects trust and promises development is a new way forward.

Therefore, the cries raised against this alliance are not protests, but voices of fear of losing power. The time is not far when Kerala politics will realize this

Conflicting interests united

#Conflicting interests united
The sudden friendliness between the NSS and SNDP, especially in an election year, shows an attempt to turn Kerala’s complex society into simple vote calculations based on community. Such temporary alliances, formed for political convenience rather than real agreement, have failed in the past because they underestimate the political awareness of Kerala’s voters.

The basic differences between the two groups cannot be ignored: most Nairs fall under the general category, while Ezhavas benefit from OBC reservation. These conflicting interests cannot be covered up with public gestures and vague talk of “shared goals”. The earlier Vellappally–Sukumaran Nair experiment clearly proved this. Repeating the same exercise today will only increase public distrust and encourage identity-based politics, weakening Kerala’s tradition of reform-oriented and issue-based political thinking.

More seriously, these moves add to the growing problem of communal polarisation in the State. Communities are being pushed into vote-bank politics in the name of countering other groups. The claim that Muslims support both the UDF and LDF, whether true or exaggerated, is being used to justify a counter-mobilisation among Hindu caste organisations. This benefits political leaders and power brokers, not ordinary people.

Opposition leader V.D. Satheesan appears to understand this danger, but the Congress leadership’s hesitation to openly support him suggests a double standard. Opposing communalism in words while quietly adjusting to it is a bad  practice. Kerala does not need new caste alliances or communal equations. What it needs is political courage to uphold constitutional values, pursue real social justice beyond vote banks, and reject identity politics that divide society for short-term electoral gains.

Need of the time

#Need of theTime
Extremist tendencies that misinterpret Islam and use it for political gain and power are a serious threat to humanity. The world's nations must work together to stop the spread of such ideas.

Violent propaganda spread through educational institutions, religious organizations, and social media must be controlled through strong legal measures, and educational programs that guide the youth towards critical thinking and peaceful religious consciousness must be strengthened.

Instead of vain talk such as secularism, raising awareness throughout society by supporting leaders and institutions that promote the true values of religion such as tolerance, humanity, and peace will help in uprooting terrorism.

In this context, the UAE's action to deny scholarships to students studying there, out of concern about the influence of terrorism in British universities, is commendable and far-sighted. The responsibility to protect its own students from the spread of dangerous ideas is a fundamental duty of a state, and that is what the UAE has done here.

If other Muslim countries adopt such strict stances, there will be a strong backlash against acts of terrorism committed in the name of religion. For the sake of world peace and human security, the critical need of the present era is to reject terrorism in all its forms and to control it through legal and educational measures.

Athijeevithamar is the #richness of this #house.

#Athijeevithamar is the #richness of this #house.
Now Kerala politics is shifting to a serial format: Pinarayi-1, Pinarayi-2, Pinarayi-3, and in parallel with it, Athijeevitha-1 (Victim-1), Athijeevitha-2, Athijeevitha-3. Seasons change, characters change, but the plot twist never ends.

The most famous of these is the new hit dialogue "Love you to the moon and back".
Although Athijeevitha-1 borrowed it from the 1994 children's book "Guess How Much I Love You", this sentence, which was even printed on the Chief Minister's teacup, may now become a political poem on par with the Pinarayi-1 slogan "LDF will come, everything will be fine".

The immeasurable love to the moon and back - is now evolving into a symbol of governance and power. The beauty of this phrase lies in its simplicity. The feeling of covering a distance of 3,84,400 kilometers forward and the same distance back in a single breath. A firm declaration that love is not a one-way street, but a round trip.

Usually, it is used between a mother and her child, or between a lover and her lover. But in Kerala, it has found a new use - politics or the succession of rulers. A strange combination of devotion and security. The confidence that "everything will be fine" no matter how confusing things get, a way of expressing it with the moon as a witness.

When we remember that the young MLA went to look for the survivors again and again without knowing this, the eyes of the ordinary Malayali who loves the channel get filled with tears. Because one day, if all the survivors-1, 2, and 3 come home looking for the MLA, it will not be a "round trip" but a "Kattappoka". Let's hope that such a season does not come.  Otherwise, the next slogan might be: "Love you to the moon, but please don’t come back!"

Political reality in Kerala

#Political #Reality in Kerala.
Dissatisfaction with the Pinarayi Vijayan-led government has entered its final phase. The trend of leaders leaving the very base of the CPI(M) and the Left Front is evident. The arrogance, organizational neglect and lack of democratic discussions of the administration are evident. It is no coincidence that leaders like S. Rajendran are openly distancing themselves from Idukki and that there is a growing loss of trust even in the traditional strongholds of the Left.

The random campaigning by some low-level media outlets like Reporter Channel for the slogan of Pinarayi 3.0 is also becoming counterproductive; the government does not realize that the people are thinking against what such government-sponsored media outlets are saying.

When power is centralized and criticism is suppressed, the ground under the feet of the Left is being eroded.  People are looking with disgust at the contradictory materialistic expressions of people like M. V. Govindan and P. Rajiv, as if to hide the government's failure. They themselves are not sure what they are saying.

At this time, the BJP is entering the political vacuum created by Pinarayi's misrule. The reaction to the policies of the Narendra Modi government, which prioritizes development and governability, is also growing in Kerala. It is natural that many leaders are looking for another way due to the neglect and ideological conflicts within the Left. Names like S. Rajendran, Palode Santosh, Reji Lukose, R. Sreelekha, Gopi are not isolated incidents; they are indications of a major political restructuring. The Left's paid political observer, Haskar, who justifies any misdeed, is in a bind. The sons of prominent Congress leaders K. Karunakarun and A. K. Antony have joined the BJP long ago.

As public discontent with both fronts grows, the possibility of the BJP coming to power as a third force becomes a reality. With the Left losing its chance for self-correction, a majority in Kerala believe that a change of power will be a political reality in the near future rather than a possibility.

New legal strategy

#New #legal strategy
When we see the confidence of those who provide legal advice to the government, we wonder if our legal system is still only on books. If the verdict is not acceptable, cast doubt on the judge herself, declare the court biased, and then push it all to the public under the label of 'legal advice': If this is the new legal strategy, the appellate courts could have been closed and Facebook posts would have been enough.

What legal sense is there in preparing a public charge sheet against the judge who pronounced the verdict in the actress assault case, even though it is said that there is serious evidence, avoiding the appeal, which is the only legal avenue to examine it? If it is the court's fault that the evidence was rejected, then it should be proven within the court, not in channels and on the streets.

Forgetting the fact that the Supreme Court has already taken a clear stand on the memory card issue, raising the same card again as a political slogan is not a legal battle, but a mockery of the law.  It would be good to look back at the history of how many cases the government has lost so far on the basis of such ‘legal advice’

There are only three months left before this govt. leave power. So why not stop the practice of challenging the legal system? Otherwise, the government will end up answering not to the courts but to the people themselves; in the face of court indifference and widespread ridicule.

Man-made disaster

#Man-made #Disaster
Kerala is staring at a man-made public health disaster, and the state government’s evasive posture on rabies control is nothing short of administrative apathy. The surge in dog bites and rabies deaths is not an unavoidable phenomenon but the direct outcome of policy paralysis.

Animal Birth Control (ABC), repeatedly showcased as a magic solution, has demonstrably failed on the ground, yet the government clings to it as a convenient alibi for inaction. Local bodies pleading lack of funds is an insult to public intelligence. Kerala’s decentralised system is flush with resources when it comes to festivals, publicity, and political pet projects.

When human lives are at stake, suddenly the exchequer runs dry. The Human Rights Commission’s intervention itself is a damning indictment of the government’s non-cooperation and inability to prioritise citizens’ right to life over ideological posturing.

The hypocrisy becomes starker when so-called animal welfare arguments are selectively weaponised. Moral outrage over stray dogs rings hollow in a state where thousands of buffaloes, pigs, chicks, and ducks are slaughtered daily without triggering similar activism. Public health cannot be held hostage to selective compassion or noisy pressure groups.

Equally disturbing are persistent allegations of vested interests thriving on the endless cycle of bites, vaccines, and panic, turning human suffering into a lucrative marketplace. Against this backdrop, the government’s claim that it is “difficult to find land” for shelters is laughable. Land is readily found for commercial projects, party offices, and tourism ventures, but mysteriously vanishes when it comes to saving lives.

This is not a logistical problem; it is a crisis of political will. Kerala urgently needs decisive action viz. scientific population control, effective sheltering, strict accountability, and above all, a government that stops dodging responsibility while rabies spreads unchecked.

Venezuela Protest Exercises

#Venezuela #Protest #Exercises
The pro-Venezuelan protests seen in Kerala are scenes that even cross the boundaries of political drama. While in many parts of the world, the Venezuelan people themselves are taking to the streets against the dictatorial regime of Nicolas Maduro, here some are trying to whitewash the communist regime by raising the outdated slogan of “American occupation”.

It is not America that has pushed a country that used to be overflowing with oil wealth into famine and currency depreciation, but it is the failure of Maduro’s communist regime. These comrades, who are not ready to accept the fact that a box full of currency is needed to buy a chicken egg, are more enslaved to ideology than to reality. The cry of “democracy is in danger” when the police stopped the CPI(M) protest in Bengaluru, and the silence when they are allowed to do whatever they want in Kerala is evidence of double standards.

In fact, these Venezuela protests are a smokescreen to hide the corruption and failures of governance that are currently being discussed in Kerala. It is not only the need of America to end the drug trade that is competing with countries like Colombia and Mexico and the regime that is starving the people; it is the moral obligation of the world community. It is completely irresponsible to condemn such an act and to take to the streets here in support of a defeated communist regime.

Like the question of where the comrade' "karanbhoot" will go for treatment, what is the ethical basis for these protests remains an unanswered question. Such unnecessary protests to divert people's attention from the real problems in Kerala deserve strong condemnation.

Development magic

#DevelopmentMagic
When we hear the news that 22,469 enterprises and half a million jobs have been created in the last nine months, we might think that Kerala has suddenly become a mini Silicon Valley. But if one looks into the details of the figures, he will see that most of the start-ups there are thattukadas, papada stalls, dosamav shops, fish stalls, and pancharotikkal centers. When all the shops that open in the morning and close in the evening, and may not be seen tomorrow if the rent increases, are “new enterprises”, it is easy to count the job opportunities.

If two people work in the shop on the day the shop opens, two jobs; if the shop closes the next day? That does not appear in the figures at all. This is how entrepreneurship sometimes soars in the figures and ends up by the wayside in reality.

It is no coincidence that such news is repeated more when elections are approaching.  This is the usual practice in the script of development, with project figures on one side and salary hike announcements on the other. The announcement is grand, but the question of where and how the money will be provided is unanswered. Sometimes it seems that the intention is to let the next government, once it assumes power, be burdened by these announcements. It is a kind of political strategy to make promises without the money to implement them and say, “We announced them, they did not implement them.”

Thus, when the ruling party plays a comedy during the election season by combining figures and announcements, the public is confused whether to applaud or cry

But it is more likely that the people will directly question the truth of the script behind the scenes during the election.

Belated Realisation

#Belated #realization
The ‘Nava Kerala Study Program’ conducted by the government by sending 85,000 volunteers door to door is just another political exercise to hide the failure of the administration. The fact that those who claim to have created ‘Nava Kerala’ during their nine and a half years in power are once again coming to learn about Nava Kerala exposes the hollowness of that claim.

The fact that they travelled in a Nava Kerala bus with food and drink, demolished school walls, held meetings, and discussed only with the civic leaders, ignoring the common people, but could not reach any decision is proof of this. It was only after realizing the setback in the local body elections that the realization that ‘the matter will be resolved only if the common people are involved’ came. But that was a very late realization.

The people, who have been suffering from the embezzlement of the Chief Minister and others, mockingly remember the full form  “Mulak Vellam” when they hear the name ‘MV’. Isn’t he the owner of the chili water?  The common people are not mentally retarded because of such hatred.

It is a common swindle that leaves people in two squads in a single panchayat ward. This is a common swindle that has no productivity. The reason why people take this kind of work is because of the belief of a few people that if they do such work, they will get a government job through the back door in a state where PSC is being looked down upon.

While development activities are lying like a broken floating bridge, crores of rupees have been lost in most projects due to the government's incompetence. Before going to the houses to assess the development and declare a New Kerala, the government should first examine how the patience and trust of the people have been broken.

The New Kerala Volunteers should also be warned not to get their heads wet with Chili water
