What is happening now in thecolleges in the state is sheer vandalism. The heads of these institutions are helpless to check this rot. The latest example in this regard is the killing of a girl student atCollege of Engineering Trivandrum. The college washosting the Onam celebrations and that too without the permission of the principal. How can a college conduct Onam celebrations without the permission of the authority? The college management owes an explanation for permitting ajeep lacking valid papers inside the campus. The whole episode reveals the need for occasional check inside the campus by the police and that too without informing the college authority. No college will be permitted to become havens for criminals. Immediate decision will be taken to implement strict directions for the conduct of all college celebrations.
